Many people live vicariously through me by following my posts where I chronicle my adventures with the thousands of pictures I take on each outing.  At first, I used to post those pictures to give my friends and family back in Texas a taste of what California is like.  I then discovered that not only do my family and friends in Texas follow my adventures, but also my friends in California and beyond.

I created this blog and web series to log my journeys on a more in-depth basis, giving people the opportunity to know me and my heart to inspire and encourage.  I want you to know that you don’t have to live vicariously through me or anyone else.  You can get out and explore for yourself.

What I learned on my first trip to Yosemite’s famed Half Dome was that there is a parallel to the journey of conquering a literal mountain and conquering a life mountain.  The physical challenges I encounter on my treks and the negative thoughts I must overcome are just like the ones I face in various situations of my daily life.  These lessons have proven to be valuable.

I am simply sharing my tales of the trails and you are free to take from them whatever you wish.  If you’re just here to enjoy the pictures and learn about some fun hiking trails, that’s fine as well.  If you want to live vicariously through me, that’s okay, too.  Just know that you CAN do it if you set your mind to it.
